    Hi,

I installed the trial version of NTFS for Mac on my Intel iMac running OS X 10.6. My computer now crashes at Startup with a kernel error. I can only boo the computer in Safe Mode. The apple error message (pasted below) seems to indicate it is com.paragon-software.filesystems.ntfs causing the Kernel error. In safe mode I try to run the NTFS for Mac uninstaller, but it doesn't recognize that NTFS for Mac is installed, so it doesn't remove the software.

The apple error is as follows:

    Thu Oct 1 12:37:13 2009

Do you have the installer version compatible with Snow Leopard 10.6? The older version is not compatible with Snow Leopard, but NTFS for Mac 7.0.3 is available to download in your account.

In safe mode, run the same installer you used, and choose the uninstall option. Then download the latest version (7.0.3) and reinstall program.

Contact our sales, and get connected with support, and we should be able to provide you with the version of 7.0.3 to install over the previous version.

I was unable to uninstall the software with the installer. It didn't recognize the software as being installed. After some exploring and moving extensions from the System folder, I discovered ntfs.kext was causing the kernel crash. By removing ntfs.kext, I no longer get the kernel crash. I reinstalled 10.6 and 10.6.1 and it installed a clean version of ntfs.kext.

The problem is applications like iChat crash when I do save. How do I remove any remnants of NTFS for Mac without using the installer?

    Thank you for your help!
