    I am using WinRar 3.30
I can create an archive with 81 files.
I can right click scan that archive and KAV shows all 81 files scanned but if I try to rescan that same archive again, KAV only shows one file as being scanned. I can reboot and rescan the archive and still the scan report shows one file.
I can delete the archive and recreate it again from a folder with the same 81 files and unless I rename the folder before archiving KAV will still only show one file scanned out of 81.
Will someone else try this and see if they get the same results please?

    thanks

Does KAV "remember" what files its scanned, and only rescans them if they have been altered ?

It doesn't remember the files but it seems to remember the archived folder name. Funny though because you can keep rescanning an unarchived folder all day and KAV will report scanning all files and not just one.
Kaine? did you try it ?

I remember one thing. U can choose also those extended or paranoid update settings that were possible in KAV 4.5. Those update setting names were chanced in KAV 5.0 Personal beta!

When I used that KAV Personal 5.0 beta I had also eTrust v7.0.142 and Avast 4.1 Home as my backup scanners installed plus TrojanHunter 3.82, SpyBot 1.2, MRU-Blaster, SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, Keylogger Killer, Ewido Anti-Trojan Free and eTrust EZ Firewall as my security programs in my PC which is Celeron 1 Ghz, 512 MB RAM.

I was able to do everything that I want but KAV was too expensive to me as a final solution compared to my DrWeb 4.31 -- 16.62 Euros as a licence renewal!
