    I am thrilled..
I have done my homework on this product a while back.
i use Avast & have been using it for nearly 3 years now without problems, except when I used Etrust along with Avast which at the time knocked out all of Avasts security system & I was attacked by viruses,& trojans, within a week.
unbelieveable!!!!but very true, this was in the begining of 2004.
i am a little nervous about installing a new av product because of what occured.
I have Windows XP,Service pk2,i run, spybot, spyblaster,I have windows firewall with the more secure one with service pk2 I have a firewall on my sbc gateway portal,i use adaware and also have the beta version of microsofts antispyware too. and i use erunt, trying to think of what else..my avast security system is set to paranoid, because i am..so, i am curious about installing nod32, the reviews are great, but my fears are too,i am guessing that if i install nod32 it will disable most of the security on my avast right?
any suggestions to put my fears to resto_O

    Congratulations on your win!

NOD32 is the most forgiving antivirus out there. It rarely interferes with programs.
NOD will tell you to remove any other antivirus before installing to prevent problems.
Running two antivirus programs in real time is not a good idea.

To be safe, I would uninstall Avast first.

just disable avast standard and email scanners and there should be no problems. disabling the standard scanner is very important especially if u have the nod32 2.5 beta. otherwise, avasts im, p2p, script blocker, and network residents work nicley with nod32. avast + nod32 are a good combo. anyways glad ur using nod32.

    Hi Security Freak:

All program updates and upgrades are free for the licensing term. No need to wait for a new version. ;)

I switched my XP PC tonight to the current version of NOD32. (Lets just say that on dialup, my old reliable AV just took way too stinking long to update.) I was holding off because of the upcoming 2.5 release but in the end, I couldn't wait anymore! (BTW, glad I switched. The initial "big" download of NOD was quicker than some of my daily updates with the old AV!)

Once 2.5 is out and there is more experience with it, then I'll upgrade. But in the meantime, I'll be much happier than I have been for quite some time.

    Thanks everyone.
I am however a paranoid freak when it comes to security, I'm just not ready to try something new on my computer, so I installed NOD32 on my husbands computer. He really doesnt know much about computers(nothing really) and doesnmt go on line that much. But I thought I would test it out there first. His computer is a bit older but has the same security as mine(all of it) I disabled the avast standard & email scanners.
    I'm trusting NOD32 & you guys.
This is the computer that I used ETRUST on and disabled avast then too & well...as I said earlier, I got infected within a weeks time, causing me to do a complete destructive recovery on the old girl & swore NEVER to try a new AV..
Oh well, I'm taking a chance, besides, its my husbands computer now..I have a new one :O)

I updated & scanned hubbys computer & it came out clean.
I'm quite sure mine is too, I am as I said very parinoid & never take any chances.
Using NOD32 was very easy, followed Blackspears setup and it seems to be doing well along side avast with avasts p2p,& im & web scanners still running, so I'm glad about that.
    Thank you again.
    Have a great Day!! :D

Congratulations ... I am a former user of F-Prot and really liked their AV until i used NOD32 for a few weeks.

Take a look at the results of any vendor you like - and look at their Pass/Fail ratings ... don't look at the cumulative total as Linux and Netware results are all added in with the Windows. Count the pass/fail's on the Windows platform and see who you trust. :D

NOD32 hasn't failed on the NT platform since the year 2000.

    Congratulations on your win !!!
I also won NOD32 two days ago. And I am also thrilled, LOL
I had eTrust AV and FW. I uninstalled it before I installed NOD32. Then I got ZoneAlarm FW.
But I will tell you now, the eTrust I had wasn't hardly any good at all<--my opinion. Because AMON found 5,240 infections after I installed NOD32 o_O
I ended up, lastnight, switching to the NOD32 beta. Since it includes more in the scans. Anyway I just wanted to congratulate you on your win !!!

I got a pretty good chuckle out of how you use your hubby as a guinea pig :D. Seriously though, NOD32 is right up there for AV protection. Congrats on the win!
