how many RCs are there going to be. I really wish Prevx had stayed on the path they were on. This is what happens to all products that start adding stuff. I realize in the end it may work but personally I dont even like the new web thing. I would have like a sandbox but understand the limitations. Prevx really needs to revaluate where they want to go. They are off to a great start and need to be careful not to bite off more then they can swallow. This isnt a rant but a post about a product and vendor I want to see do well.
This web protection is something that users requested before, so Prevx brought it to us. Personally, I don't care how many RCs there will be as long as the final product is polished.
I agree with that statement! And the final will be polished! So what it is not compatible with all other security software they are trying and will succeed with most of them! trjam and his conflict posts that's all it is, it's not worth more than a penny and you still get change TH
Agreed! For me it is very simple: An AntiVirus should catch as much viruses as it can without disturbing the user (interaction/performance). I think indexing malicious websites is a good feature for a cloud product cause it is always up to date but i don't need the data tunnel. Just keep the product simple and very powerfull! I think it is much better spending time to enhance the engine then built in "features".
Just an observation: perhaps Prevx shouldn't call these builds Release Candidate. They are betas certainly, but things still need to be fixed and completed before you can really call it a RC build. (RC implies it's ready to be released to the masses barring any showstoppers.)
If you can remember back to when we were beta testing 3.0 there were quite a few things to get ironed out but they got ironed out and Joe put a lot of our suggestions into 3.0 and we ended up with an excellent product. The same will happen with this version. A few humps but they will get levelled out and we will end up with a great product. Remember, Prevx's design plan isn't to appease the techies, but to be an easy and effective means of protection for the masses. Most specifically the non-techie.
Returnil and prevx play awful together. I took both of them off my pc till things with both get worked out.
For the average user, the first SafeOnline RC was and still is completely stable. The Wilders community is not comprised of average users but is the best community to give products a very thorough run through As many as needed SafeOnline provides transparent security on top of what the antimalware components provide. There aren't any other products on the market which do what SafeOnline does which is exactly why we're doing it and why it provides a tangible and significant improvement in security.
Yes and include me in tha list. Prevx needed something much more proactive of the web side. It is actually where most infections comes from. As far as new feature are added to increase security these are more than welcomed. When Prexv will start to provide weather forecast, defrag tools of cookies filters than they will be in the wrong path Fax
