Java Plug-in Error

    I am a novice PC'er and need some help. I am receiving this message:
    "Java Plug-in 1.4.2---Java Plug-in is not installed properly." Can someone give me simplified instructions on how to take care of this problem. Your assistance will be gratefully appreciated.

    Have u tried uninstalling It and then installing the java plug in again.

    I don't know if it's still the case, but at one time (maybe a year or two back) there was lots of problems with bad downloads from Sun, especially from their "auto-install" link. It got to the point where they had to post a warning to double-check the file sizes against a list they published.

    If you still have problems, try uninstalling again and getting a fresh download from the manual-install link, that used to be more reliable.
