    G'day Wilders,

I hope I have followed your instructions properly. I have used ad-Aware and followed up with HijackThis. I believe there are still some files to do away with.

Please have a llok at the following log file and offer me some advice.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tim.

    Hi baanbbat,

    Welcome at Wilders. :)

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.sureseeker.com/search.htm
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://girls.traffic-top.com/cgi-bin/potop.cgi?action=in&ACC=2724
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.sureseeker.com/search.htm
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.sureseeker.com/search.htm
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Reg32] C:\WINDOWS\reg32.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Online Service] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe

Then reboot, download and run: http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe

If still present after that delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\reg32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\secure32.html

You really should update your IE. You are missing a lot of patches which makes you vulnerable.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks Pieter,

You suggestions have cleared up the problem. I have also taken your advice and updated IE.

Did I see a PayPal button on this site where I can make a donation? I don't seem to able to find it again.

    Thanks again.

    Tim :D

    Hi baanbbat,

    Glad we could help. :)

If you saw a paypal button along the way, it was probably at one of Javacools sites.

    Regards,

    Pieter
