It Says No Battery is Detected on my VAIO Laptop please help

    On the tray, it has a red X on the battery icon and it says "no battery is detected." why is this? it didn't say that before.

    That battery is flat, of no use and stopped functioning. You can try taking out and placing it back in unlikely case it makes a difference. Your computer now has to be powered at all times from the mains when in use.

    I will try to get her a new battery for her laptop. Until then just run it from the AC right? If the laptop's battery isn't taken out will it do harm to the laptop from charging a dead battery?

    Had that happen a few times on my laptop. Removing it and putting it back fixed the issue.
