I know very little about router setup/security.
What if any privacy issues are there with using the router provided by Telus and its default configuration/setup? I cant help but be suspicious.

If you don't trust your ISP's router, why continue connecting through them at all?

Im suspicious of big corporations in general ie: their marketing practices and respect for my privacy, especially when it comes to the internet.
Im not necessarily referring to Telus specifically, but isps in general.

They could in theory do much as they please, in practice thankfully that doesn't happen....often ( and usually they get caught out). There were/are concerns with some routers and protocols allowing ISP remote support etc but overall and so far nothing to be worried about. If that bothered, purchase a router independently of the ISP
