Is it worth upgrading to Avira Antivirus Premium 2012 ?

Just received a reminder email from Avira today regarding upgrading my license to 2012.

I did not have any idea that a new version had released.

Is it worth the upgrade to 2012 ?
What are the major features added in 2012 ?

Most of the new things are the visible things, the GUI. There aren't really many changes "under the hood".

Your license is valid for the 2012 version as well, so you don't have upgrade your license in any way.

If you want to try it out, you can download it from the webpage above and install it manually, or you can wait to October 12/13 or thereabouts, when the automatic updater in the current versions will start to pick it up from the update servers.

My license renewal is up, the present one ends in 7 days. Thats why i got the email from Avira for renewal, but the email mentioned upgrading to 2012.


So is it worth paying $15 if there are no barebone changes involved and only cosmetic changes ?

 

I suggest a visit to Avira's website as there is a PDF that explains the changes / improvements.
