Did you hear the last rumour?
AVAST means Anti Vir All Signature Tribe.
    Its a cover-up :)

    LOL.

Everyone knows the only AV worth paying for are KAV, NOD and Bitdefender.

Some others *might* be worth it such as Drweb, but I wouldn't bet the house on it.

"Worth paying for", that has always been a very relative word.
I wouldn't be so sure, "Devil's Advocate", what works for you does not work for others...;)

I trust the protection of my computer to AVAST, and have for quite a while. It's never let me down. If it takes a bit longer to boot, that's a small price to pay. When I moved to AVAST from Kaspersky, after my registration expired, it seems my computer booted faster.

As the younger generation might say, "AVAST Rules."

No problem Bubba. No hard feelings for Wildman, neither Alwil.

Internet is big business so it can be attractive to praise or slam BrandX software.
Antivir made some mistakes with the introduction of Antivir 7 but now its running well on my pc.
    Have you read this test:

    http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=72&mnu=72

It was posted in another forum too.
I was wondering are there numbers available of how many paid users there are of AV programs?

The tests at virus.gr are not trustworthy. Please search the forum for more info on this.

It tends to be unwise to attempt to speak for others.
