Ya ... I liked it too ... But I didn't really like the desktop, as much as KDE on SuSE - It pretty Windows Like, some of the features are pretty sweet, there's Wine for example, which is a Windows emulator so you can run for example; Microsoft Office. :p - But the Open Office is more than sufficient, really. ;)

Hmmm ... You maybe catching the Linux ~Bug~ too.
;) :D I believe BigC is gonna install it again and give it another run. :p You gotta keep up with your buddies. ;) :D

At times, I think about a Mac to play with. My brother uses a Mac. The operating system is based on Linux.
But then, what would we talk about? :D

Where'd you get the first theme?! It's BEAUTIFUL! (I want it ^_^)

I've installed SuSE 9.2 on my other computer, and it's been pretty nice so far.
    I'm a n00b to Linux :(

    Hi Kye-U, ;)

If you are referring to the first image in Post #57 ... It's not mine. :'( ~I love it too~ ;) (It's a screen shot from the Mandrake Site - http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/fscreenshots.php3 ) ... when I do figure it out, I will certainly let you know with a PM. ;)

LOL ... I'm a nOOb too ... I've only had SuSE 9.2 just over a week ... and haven't had much time to play with, yet. ~evil grin~ :) ... But I will admit it really is fascinating, so much to learn ;) :) which is probably one of my most favourite things to do. :)

Well, not quite linux based but freebsd, a real unix for the intel platform. There are many differences between them, but both (freebsd and linux, not MacOS) are open source.

I had to look. :) Thanks for the screenshots Steve. Great!

Linux is a UNIX-Like Operating System, written from Scratch, based on the POSIX Standard, that defines the Way a UNIX-Like OS must work.

All Unixes must be POSIX Compliant, no matter if it's Linux, BSD-s, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, IRIX, etc, etc....

After All, UNIX is a Trademark that originally belonged to Bell Laboratories (AT&T), and has been sold to one company to another with the years... (UNIX is what the owner wants it to be)

So, POSIX is the Standard, but for Tradition, all this POSIX-Compliant Operating Systems are called UNIXES, or UNIX-Like.

It's another linux desktop live cd. It's Mandrake based, so the basic version is good. I ran the previous version once, but I didn't like it. Don't know why anymore (I don't think it is multi lingual), since I tried a lot of other systems :)
    Lots of distro's at distrowatch.com
