I am helping a friend with his computer. He bought it in 05 and that is when his Norton subscriptions died. Evidently it was only good for 30 days. I removed Norton and downloaded Avira Free and ran a scan. It found two files in Doc.and settings that are now in Quarantine. They are I think FP's. One was IEhome.vbs and the other is IEenablecookie.vbs. I tried Googleing them but didn't find anything. Are they OK?

Well, assuming the extensions are proper, you should be able to open then in something like notepad and review the script. Assuming they're not a convoluted mess, you should be able to make the call.

If you find it in doc and settings, you can safely delete such vbs files that not dll or exe, I don't think it is FP, maybe just potential unsafe or unwanted file.
