This was first mentioned way back in August: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=321047

But the first alpha version has finally been released (v0.1)

Currently only works with 32bit versions of IE 8-10.

FYI: Ruleset is in <DRIVE>:\Program Files (x86)\Zscaler\HTTPS Everywhere\rules\default.rulesets

Oooh! Wonder if it works on products like Maxthon?

With Admuncher, I an liberated to use other browsers, but I like HTTPS everywhere. Waiting on Admuncher to filter HTTPS, but I still would like this extension in all browsers I use.

64-Bit IE is buggy in my experience, just not usable for so many websites. So no issue there, if I used IE it would be 32-Bit, and the IE engine browsers are all 32 Bit.

    Great news!

    -edit-

Doesn't seem to be working here. It loads into Internet Explorer add-on page ("Manage add-ons"), but it doesn't load into any IE process (judging by Process Explorer), and of course it doesn't redirect me to any HTTPS version. To make sure, I checked its rules file and went to one of the websites it is suppose to redirect users, but it doesn't redirect.

I wonder if it's a bug... or maybe some odd IE configuration I got in place. lol

    Running IE10 on Windows 7 x86.

I've tried it in a relative's system running Windows 7 x86 + Internet Explorer 9 (default settings). According to Process Explorer it loads the dll into iexplore.exe, but it still doesn't redirect any website to their HTTPS version.

Is it working for you? o_O

Doesn't look like it. :( I sent the guy an email, hopefully something comes of it.

Luckily the HTTPS Everywhere functionally that DuckDuckGo search provides seems to have been drastically expanded this month to include a lot more sites.

(Author of HTTP Everywhere for Internet Explorer)

I've tested HTTPS Everywhere on a all IE versions, and many OS. Personally, I use it on Windows 7 + IE 9.

To check if it works, try entering http://www.google.com/. You should be redirected to https://encrypted.google.com/

If this does not work, and you verified that it is displayed under Manage Add-on, check out the Debugging section (page 7) described at https://www.zscaler.com/research/plugins/ie/https-everywhere/https-everywhere.pdf (There was supposed to be a link to the PDF on our blog and website, but I forgot it).

    Thanks for joining us :)

    The exact steps I'm taking:
Disable Enhanced Protected Mode so IE launches as 32bit
    Launch InPrivate window
Check that the addon is loaded (which it is) in the addon panel
Enter google.com in the address bar
Get redirected to my country specific Google page, not https

I tried installing DebugView and running it as admin, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to mention HTTPS Everywhere at all.

Oddly when I look at the addons panel in IE, although it's listed as enabled, it doesn't list a "load time" or "navigation time" like other addons do.

Ok, so I launched a normal Window (not InPrivate) and it started working.. Went to google.com and got redirected to encrypted.google.com and saw HTTPS Everywhere entries in DebugView.

The Manage Addons page still doesn't show a "load time" or "navigation time" though. But I guess the addon isn't loading in InPrivate for some reason.

Apparently, after executing DebugView I should be able to see some info, but I see nothing, at all. Am I missing some step? o_O

Also, according to Process Explorer, HTTPS Everywhere is not loaded in IE processes (it does appear in the add-ons manager, as I previously mentioned).

At this point, I'm not sure if there's something in my system preventing it from successfully running... Most likely. But, I did try to run in both in normal mode and with default Protected Mode settings, but to no avail. :(

OK. I just noticed it now. In the PDF it mentions that it needs administrator rights... is it for the installer only or for HTTPS Everywhere as well? Because, I'm running as a standard user.

Administrator right is required for the installation only, not for running Internet Explorer.

I'll check the InPrivate mode, I was not aware of it.

The current version does not work with IE 64-bit (currently working on that).

    OK. Thanks for confirming that.

I still couldn't run it in my system, nor can I see any debug info with DebugView, at all. I'm 99,99% confident the issue is on my side - some security restriction I can't think of, most likely .

I tried in a relative's system, but as previously mentioned, HTTPS Everywhere is present in the add-ons manager and according to Process Explorer it loads the dll into iexplore.exe processes. Unfortunately, it won't redirect to the HTTPS version of any website.

I could see debug info, and hopefully it will help solve this issue, or point to a solution to fix it in my relative's system.
