    Greetings,

I am trying to clone (and or complete image) an IBM Thinkpad notebook hard drive. The problem is that IBM uses a hidden partition that effects the boot sector somehow. When I clone the drive it won't boot. How can I do an exact clone or complete image without modifying the boot sector?

    I am using TI 9

    Thanks,
    Dan

Try making the clone using the bootable True Image CD.

    Hello SURE1,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please notice that most likely the case is the hidden partition got resized during the cloning operation to a different sized hard drive. Please perform the cloning operation using manual (not automatic) clone mode and manual (not proportional/as is) partition transfer method, when prompted. Make sure you don't resize/move the service partition. Please see chapter "Transferring the system to a new disk" of the respective User's Guide for details.

    Thank you.
