Don't worry when it's released you won't miss the announcement or the component offer thru Nod's update, until then; sit back and relax. ;) :) It'll get here when it gets here, posting repeatedly about it won't help it arrive any faster - and doing so, serves no real purpose. :doubt:

  5. Hey guys...

what's the prevailing opinion on installing the current version vs waiting until 2.5 is ready?

I need to do an install of AV software on a system this week. I'm just wondering what folks close to the software think regarding the difference of doing a clean install of 2.5 vs upgrading from the current version.

Might one path incurr less chance of any "isssues" relative to the other? I realize there shouldn't be any difference...but I'm asking anyway.

    Thanks

Would you all kindly refrain from posting when will the new release come about. It will be released as soon as the authors are able to do so and not before. Any further posts regarding the release will be removed

    Thank you

U can install the beta one. Smt tells me that until the end of the week, the new nod 2.5 will be released. U can upgrade beta.

Why exactly does this matter? Use the 2.5.9 Beta until it's officially released. ;) No one from Eset is going to give a new date, as just like the expected release on the 6th that has been slightly delayed because of unforeseen circumstances, it may happen again. As it has already been said this is the right approach ... I wouldn't want Eset to rush a release just to meet a deadline, I want the completely finished product when it's ready. I believe this is the third such thread, where the topic has been the release date! You can ask until your blue in the face, but a continuing barrage of such questions won't result in any answer, although it may end up closing the thread. Why would they choose to speculate any further, because if some one from Eset announced it would be release tomorrow and it wasn't ... we'd end up with the same situation with a new batch of these relentless questions ... Don't Worry be Happy! :)

  10. What to install in the interim...

Ok, maybe I should have read the details elsewhere instead of asking again...

I can install the beta and have a seamless upgrade to the Final WITHOUT having to do the "uninstall" which is required when you're running trial versions.

And this is what people suggest as a "cleaner path" to 2.5 than installing the older software now and upgrading later?

    Thanks.

Re: What to install in the interim...

Safe mode: install the current release (2.12.3). Then, when 2.5 is released, uninstall and reinstall.

Normal mode: install 2.5 beta. Then, when 2.5 is released, uninstall and reinstall.

Simple mode: install 2.5 beta. Then, when 2.5 is released, use automatic update to update to the final 2.5 release.

I am going to reinstall (running 2.5 beta now) just to be on the safe side :D

  12. Thanks for that outline SSK !
