I've noticed that Nod has a progress window for larger incoming emails. I wish that there was a progress window for outgoing. When using OutlookExpress I like to know how far along I am when sending out large attachements.

While sending an attachment you can just click on the OE "Send/Rec" button to view the OE progress bar.

Oh .. you're right I knew there was a solution

I usually use opera - which has it own outgoing progress bar.

But I just realised that Nod supplies an incoming progress window that neither opera nor norton would show.

    that's a plus! everything's covered

Erm, actually Norton did show incoming email scans - there was an envelope in the systray with an animated blue arrow (indicating incoming check) :)

    NOD32 doesn't scan outgoing e-mail.

I think he wasn't referring to the actual scan so much, as to file transfer status. I could be wrong, it seems that I all too often am. ;)

    Correct.

    Not in this case ;)

This is what clicking on Send and Receive does, it has a progress window, it is not a function of Nod32, as Nod32 does not scan outgoing email, there is no point in doing so as AMON will not allow and infected file to be sent...

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

It's good to know that (about Amon) - thanks

I just thought the outgoing progress bar was an extra perk – just to know how long you need to wait before the attachment will be sent out – and then you can close down the email client. I don’t use Outlook Express anymore but my other half does. If she closes OE too early—there isn’t any visible sign of activity on her end – but if she tries to shut down xp – it hangs because the outgoing mail is still in progress.

I’ll need to teach her the OE send/receive method.
