i just have a question about this program (does Acronis True Image 8.0)

    so if i just reinstalled windows and some programs. and i run the image file. will the programs disapear if they are not on the image. like just say i installed windows and a game. ig i then run the image will the game disapear?

    What do you mean "run the image"? Are you talking about restoring an image? The image will overwrite the partition or partitions that you are restoring too. You can't "merge" an image into an existing partition.

    An image is like a time machine. Once you restore from an image, the partition(s) are reverted back in time to how they looked when the image was taken - programs, documents, settings, last-time-modified, EVERYTHING.

    That's the nice part (and the bad part) about imaging versus file based backups.

    During backup, Acronis program creates an image from the sectors that contain data, creating an exact duplicate image of the hard disk. After restoring the system configuration will be exactly the same as it was when the image was created.
