    Hi,

    Have used Ghost to image my HD and Ghost left a virtual partition on my HD.
    How to get rid of that as Disk Director is not able to show this virtual partition. Looking in my explorer it is showing a file with the name VIRTPART.DAT

    Any help is much appreciated. :)

    Hello Nick57,

    Thank you for using Acronis Disk Management Software

    Please note that Acronis Disk Director is not compatible with Norton technologies.
    So you should use a third-party software to delete virtual partition from your HDD.

    Thank you

    Hi Alexander,

    Thanks for coming back to me about this issue.
    I have searched on the Internet and many have struggled with this.

    The most common advice I saw and repated hundreds of times was:

    1) Start Fdisk. remove partition
    2) Make partition with Windows active.
    3) Reboot

    If that was not enough they advised to make a new MBR.

    Seems to me, that all of these actions are pritty the same to be or have done with Acronis?
    The only thing why we can't do this with Acronis is that it doesn't recognise this virtual partition.

    If you want, you could have my report txt file as i made this for you to do some research.

    Kind regards,

    Nick

    Hello Nick,

    To fix this issue please contact Acronis Support Team by e-mail.

    Could you please do the following?

    - Download Acronis Report utility

    - Run Acronis Report utility and select the "Create bootable floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the floppy drive and proceed with creating the bootable diskette;
    - Boot the computer under consideration from this diskette and wait for report creation process to complete;
    - Send us the report.txt file from the floppy disk. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip or WinRAR) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

    This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

    We may also need a Windows System Information Report.

    - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
    - Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";
    - Send us the saved file.

    Thank you
