How to get Smart Security 4 to prompt for scanning when removal device is plug in

I had everything enabled under "Real-Time file system protection" such as
1. enable antivirus and antispyware real-time file system protection
2. start real-time file system protectin automatically.
3. everything under "media to scan" enabled/ticked.
4. everything under "Scan on" enabled/ticked including diskette access and computer shutdown.

but ESET Smart Security didn't prompt for scanning or automatically scan when i plugged in removal device such as thumb flash drive, portable HDD and iPod.

How can i enable this fucntion instead of having to manually executing the scan?

Please advise. i need solution ASAP.

This is not possible. Protection against threats is ensured by scanning files run from removable media with maximum possible settings.

 

Meaning it will scan the file when it is accessed from the removable devices thus it is not required to do the scan when plugged into PCs?

It scans the file as it is accessed? hope my understanding is correct.
