How safe backtrack 4 really is?

can you trust Backtrack 4 for forensic purposes?

its been given on their site i just want to confirm if any one has check it

if it modify any data of hard disk or try do any miscellaneous behaviour

The last thing you want in forensics is to modify anything on a machine! The last time I used it I looked especially at its fuzzing and forensics but everything worked fine.

BackTrack comes from Auditor and WHAX pedigree and now Metasploit.
