Link is in the OP, http://www.passmark.com/products/apptimer.htm

edit: Just did 27 runs with AppTimer of Sandboxied Chrome opening to StartPage and got an average time of 0.5619. WSA-C and Chrome extensions were also running. When I turned off WSA-C it was a little faster at an average of 0.5133 over 10 runs.

These numbers are much better than I expected for Sandboxie. For me, the 0.4 second over my base speed that I'm paying for having Sandboxie, WSA and my Chrome extensions running is well worth it.

And finally (and maybe ironically), to put that 0.4 second into perspective, I've probably spent a couple of hours happily playing around with AppTimer just to reach that conclusion.

I have an i7 2600k, which runs at 1600mhz when not doing much. I also have an Intel SSD drive. I like testing things out, but don't really know what it matters if my stuff already happens "in the blink of an eye". And the blink of an eye is 200-400ms according to what I heard.

Nothing can protect against ring0 memory corruption loaders and droppers...

I'm gonna run a couple tests on my PC, just remember that results might not be great because my desktop is really messed up. :D

Okay stopped tweaking (current setup in sig), Chrome 10 runs until Google (www.google.nl) visible in window (alt F4 close). Main increase in speed is now connecting to google.nl instead of startpage.com.

    C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe - 10 executions
    0.2589
    0.1904
    0.2029
    0.1873

    0.1873
    0.2031
    0.1872
    0.2029
    0.1873

Now checking with Outlook on correct window (Postvak IN) instead of Outlook, makes it a lot slower :D but more according reality
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE - 10 executions
    0.5158
    0.4998
    0.5154

Yeah, "lean and mean" from my pov is not the launching of apps in ms, it's more like them launching reasonably fast, like in 1/2 - 1.5 seconds, except the browser which seems to take ~ 2 1/2 seconds, running stable without freezing or crashing, the system O/S running stable and not crashing or freezing, cpu usage running at a reasonable %, memory usage running at a reasonable %. That's what I care about the most :)
