homepage highjacked, uncontrolalbe emailing, ...

Please forgive me if this has previously been posted, but I don't even know where to begin a search on this.

I have 2 major problems. First, I get Spy Sweeper aksing me if I want to set my homepage to either C:\Windows\Setup32\iesp.mht or about:blank. i answer "no" for either, and a highjackthis scan afterwards verifies it's still set to yahoo.com. but it just keeps happening, like every few minutes, at least.

2nd: I all of a sudden have out of control emails being sent out from my computer. I have Norton Anti-Virus, and there is non-stop scanning of emails (the little window pops up saying symantec is scanning a message)

I run Windows XP home edition, and use IE v 6.0.
