EDIT- that Kaspersky shouldn't be there, I'm sure i fixed it and manually dragged it off my system as it didn't want to leave, must have remnants hidden elsewhere as im sure i deleted the registry entry o_O
    Thanx in advance

    Hi spydespiser,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/sb/*http://uk.docs.yahoo.com/info/bt_side.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/sp/*http://uk.search.yahoo.com/
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/sb/*http://uk.docs.yahoo.com/info/bt_side.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/sp/*http://uk.search.yahoo.com/

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/su/*http://uk.search.yahoo.com/

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/btyahoo/defaults/su/*http://uk.search.yahoo.com/

    O4 - Global Startup: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite\AvpM.exe <= by request.

    Then reboot.

You do have quite some unnecessary startups IMO.
Here is a great site to check if you agree:

The AOL entry is looking for drive E: (CD-ROM player?)
So it is harmless in itself, but not very usefull either. Certainly if you are no longer using their software.

Have HijackThis fix that one as well.

And a few you may want to look up.
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe

    O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe
    O4 - Global Startup: InterVideo WinCinema Manager.lnk = C:\Demos\InterVideo\Common\Bin\WinCinemaMgr.exe

These are all not essential, but you might like to have them handy after boot.

    Regards,

    Pieter
