Yup that is what I am saying and so what is the purpose of all the clickables if thay all do the same thing? Those hover over buttons do not need to all do the same thing as one setting button already does. As far as the hover over , that is not needed. Just add that info to a help file or another hot spot just to explain the funtions.

How do you uninstall HMP.Alert? I tried today and ended up with a disaster. Took me almost 4 hours to recover and get back to normal.

    Have you tried v1, v2 or v2.5?

v1 has issues with Kaspersky and Norton
v2 has issues with Norton only
    v2.5 fixes the above issues

You can uninstall easily via Add/Remove Software. But you can also uninstall by specifying: hmpalert.exe /uninstall.

We've added the tiles to illustrate the features that there and active in Alert. If you mouse over you get a description of the feature. If a tile is hollow (no color, just a grey border) the feature is disabled.

We think the hottips are much more convenient than a separate help file (nobody reads these). Also the hot tip textually shows the state of the feature (enabled / disabled).

    Hope this helps.

Ok Ok I se what you are saying. If the hover over's were not there the GUI would be pretty bla. You would have The program name on a black screen with a setting button on bottom. And so yes the hover overs look cool and explains what the feature does, BUT do we actually need the option to be able to click on any one of them and get the same exact screen that does the same exact thing?

Same screen to each clicked hover over. Of corse this is just my warped point of view :)

i know you have been busy, answer when you have time. does the double fly-out effect the way hmp.alert and sandboxie3.76 works? also, update on cryptorlocker thread at bleepingcomputer. crazy cat states(warns) he has written code that will compromise the software restriction policy rules of the cryptoprevent tool. a new crypto virus read to decrypt and more on the way. thanks

Well, as there were no recent posts from the developers,
I suppose you may assume there was no news and there are no updates.

Just wanted to let people know that SurfRight's offices are closed until January 6th. Support is still being handled during the holiday period, albeit a bit slower as usual.

There will be a few announcements in the coming weeks. Exciting times ;)

a few months ago, when using HMPA v.2, I had a problem very similar to that described
by Blues7 and Peter2150 on pages

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2293391&postcount=749
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=324841&page=31
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=324841&page=32

It seems to me that the problem results from a conflict between HMPA and Online Armor,
maybe with some influence from MBAM.

I opened a thread regarding the problem on the Online Armor forum:

    http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/13325-online-armor-and-hitmanproalert/

a few months ago I installed HitmanPro.Alert (HMPA); obviously, I added it to the exclusion list in OA.
After some short time, one (random) program stopped to respond (it didn't start at all when clicked on its icon),
then another program - the same situation, and so on. When I closed OA, the programs started to respond,
the same when OA was on and HMPA - off. So, it seems that HMPA is in conflict with HIPS in OA,
or maybe it is a kind of HIPS itself? Could this problem be solved? Does HMPA add any additional protection
to that provided by OA (a new kind of protection against ransomware, Vaccination and CryptoGuard modules, and so on).

I also observed that the HMPA process in task manager grown continuously in (a short) time from a few MB to
ca. 14 MB (stable) or so; at the same time, the above-mentioned problems with some programs occurred.
    then, I unistalled HMPA.

My OS is Windows XP Home SP3.

    and one more question please:
could HMPA be unistalled in a way that it would leave no entries or remnants,
both as files (e.g., a driver and a library, or folders) and in registry? thank you!

I am unable to reproduce this issue! I think it is caused by third party tool, but not sure which one. If you are able to reproduce, please let me know!

erikloman, thank you. The problem from my first post is much more
important. Of course, it may be caused by a 'synergetic' action of several
programs in a specific software environment.

As regards the second question, as far as I remember (I may be wrong!),
    HMPA leaves a folder in Program Files after uninstall, but it's not a problem;
because I used it in October, I can't say now whether the driver HMPAlert.sys
and other files (as HMPAlert.dll) remain in the Windows directory,
as well as those funny entries of the type LEGACY in registry.

    I have a problem (hitman pro 2.5)
When i have it installed , after a cold bootup microsoft internenet inspection service dont start (nissrv.exe , last mse)
when i have it unistalled ,nissrv.exe startup normal.
My windows is a new install with only mse an malwarebytes pro as protection.
The problem spotted after 5 days of use.(before i had no problem)
My windows is 64 bit sp1 with all updates.
I also experienced some bad behaviour of programms when i installed this application a year before.
Maybe the problem is the vacinnation option. It somehow make some programms go bad after some time..

Double flyout has no effect on workings of Alert.

I am a tech of sorts for friends and family, I have installed hitmanpro alert 2 successfully on about 4 of my computers and about 4 friends computers but every once in a while the install says system error and it would not install on 2 occasions both computers were very heavy usage with lots of programs and I could not be positive they were male-ware free before the install . Could this be the reason for the install failure?
