    Hi HJO,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you only activate license when you want
to remove malware? Otherwise, as long as it's connected to the "cloud"
it's good for scanning for free.
Also ss shows what could also be possible bug, look at activate button.
    Cheers.

    Thanks for your reply.
After hearing that scan is for free, and I can delete the virus manually,
    I decided to stay unregistered.
    Cheers.

Keep in mind that HMP removes trace elements associated to the file(s) that it detects. If you are only removing the listed infections then you could have some things lingering in the background.

In a case of TDSS/TDL3.x rootkit, you actually need Hitman to do the cleaning for you, manually deleting the file will actually render your machine unusable. Might want to break down and pay for a license, it's not too terribly expensive, especially for a product like this.

    Build 91

    Build 91 preliminary release notes:
    • Detects and removes TDL3 rootkit version 3.27 (actively spreading since Feb. 23).
TDL3.27 rootkit authors solved a bug that allowed disk access through SPTI. TDL3.27 (or newer) now monitors SPTI and serves the uninfected bytes when trying to read the hard disk driver from disk. Hitman Pro now uses different methods to detect this highly advanced rootkit.
The rootkit's authors are actively watching the security industry, monitoring which tools can detect and remove their creation. Each update shakes off a few tools making this rootkit one of the most resilient malware to date.
    • Added XML logging. Watch our Blog as a post on Logging will appear shortly.
    • Added command line switches:
/log=C:\Folder\ (make sure the path ends with a backslash)
      /log=C:\File.xml
      /noinstall
    • Added registry value LogPath which behaves the same as the /log= command line switch.
    • Added Hungarian strings
    • Updated Russian, Estonian, and Greek strings

    Re: Build 91

/NoInstall means that Hitman Pro doesn't copy its EXE to the Program Files folder and that it doesn't configure it to run at boot.

I like that addition... makes you able to do HP truly portable. :)

Nice! I can now use it as a portable scanner. Are you adding it to right click context menu? or just command line? Would be nice to add it to right click that way I could still use the force breach

    Like this:
    HitmanPro35.exe /log=”c:\temp\hitmanlog.xml” /scanonly
If you specify just a folder and not the logfile name, it will be created automatically, using %COMPUTERNAME% variable and will attach date and time of the scan.

    Thanks, dlimanov:-*

I have tried, both of them are worked. But I cannot find the "/scanonly" switch at the official website, are there more switches available in Hitman?

I was curious if anything had changed since I last tested Hitman Pro and there were no more false LSP entries detected in the current build.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

We are unable to reproduce it ourself as can be read in several posts in this thread.

So if someone has this problem and doesn't mind for us to have remote look, PM me and we can sort this out. We are releasing a new build today, perhaps a fix can be squeezed in.

Unreleased build 92 defeats TDL3.273. But I am sure TDL3 authors will counter detection within a few days. Its a cat and mouse game.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

The 640x480 in safe mode issue has already been addressed in build 89. Hitman Pro resizes the screen to 800x600 in those scenario's. Several forum users have reported it is working. Perhaps it isn't working for you?

Sure and hmp is one of the few tools that is keeping on top of detection and removal.

Although TDL3 is probably the most advanced I've seen you can see for some it is 'trivial' to remove.
