    Pieter,
I spoke too soon. Now when I start Internet Explorer I get this error message:
    "Cannot find 'file:///c:/searchpage.html'
If I close the message the browser will launch and then I have to manually enter a web address or click a favorite. So the browser still works but their appears to be remnants of the virus.
Kent told me to search and erase this file "c:\searchpage.html"
What I found was a file called that with the Internet Explorer icon next to it. When I erased that I started getting the above error message.

    Thanks,

    Kurt

    Hi Kurt,

Well it shouldn't be asking for that file. The removal was justified.

Please surf to http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/ and scroll down to
    Registry Search Tool
    Download, unzip and run RegSrch.vbs
Copy and paste this in the dialog box: searchpage

After a while a prompt will come up. Click OK to write the results to wordpad and post them.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,
I followed your directions and came up with this. I also noticed that the IE browser changed my cookie handling preferences to accept all of them. Not sure if that is part of the same problem.

    Thanks,

    Kurt

That does not help much. Did you try and change the cookies settings back and see if it stayed that way.
And did you change your Startpage?
I am trying to find out if part opf it is still active.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,
I rebooted and opened the browser to find it remembered the correct home page and cookie settings. I guess you can notch your belt with another success story!

    Thanks,

    Kurt
