She has already run AdAware and Spybot and below is her HijackThis log. I'd appreciate any feedback you might have! I'm trying to facilitate the fix from a remote location (different cities), but I have up-to-date information about what's going on with her PC.

Now that I look at it, she's got quite a bit of bullshit running on her machine. To protect her innocence, it's not even her box. She just gets the privilege of fixing her family's PC.

    Thanks again for your help!

Here's a bump because it was two o'clock in the Texas morning when I posted this. Now her PC is telling her that it's going to explode if it doesn't get fixed! WTF?!

    Oh noes!

Her computer is already smoking like it's about to burn!

Not really, but she still has this About:Blank problem. Sounds like some family members were surfing some less-than-honorable sites. Don't get me wrong... Melissa is a freak. But I don't think she'd feel the need to resort to such entertainment.

    Anyone got any feedback?

    Restart computer, find and delete:
    WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\optintrade_downloader< file

    Check this folder:
    Program Files\Windows Media Player\

And the properties of this file:wmplayer.exe -invisible
    Most likely hijacked.
If so, you can try and overwrite it with fresh copy from the DLLcache
It's normally hidden and located in:
    Or reinstall WMP.

    When done,
Download and install : "FINDnFIX.exe" from

Run the "!LOG!.bat" file, wait for the final output (log.txt)
    post the results....
