    I have just bought ATI and have been trying to create an image using my Sony DVD burner. The program keeps telling me that the media is either full or not any good. They are brand new sony DVD's. What gives?

    Do you also have Packet Writing Software?

    "Acronis True Image 8.0 is capable of writing to a DVD disk in Windows if UDF packet DVD-writing software is installed, and the DVD disk is formatted. We currently support the following packet DVD-writing software:

    * Roxio Drag To Disc — an optional part of Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator
    * Ahead InCD — is available for free on the Nero site for Ahead Nero users (and usually is shipped with Nero)
    * Veritas DLA and all its OEM versions (e.g. HP DLA)
    * Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD"

    Hello Andrew,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    The current version of Acronis True Image does not write to DVD disсs directly, instead it utilizes third party UDF packet DVD writing software. We may recommend you to install a UDF packet DVD writing software such as Ahead InCD or Roxio DirectCD, format DVD disсs by means of this software and then use formatted disсs with Acronis True Image.

    Please also follow the next link to get more information about writing on DVD: http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/faq.html#20.

    Please note that a possible workaround is to create image archives on local or network hard drives specifying the image archive split size and burn them to DVDs later.

    We will certainly implement direct DVD recording in Acronis True Image in the future.

    Thank you.
