help with spyware

i had the trojan.bookmarker virus and followed the steps on the symantec site to remove it. then i ran ad-aware in an attempt to remove any additional spyware. however, i'm still having problems in that my homepage keeps reverting back to c:\winnt\secure\html.

i ran the hijackthis fix on the 3 items listed below. however, when i booted in safe mode and went to look for the rundll32.exe file... it wasn't there.

also, there is a link in my favorites to "MyRealPics"... but it won't let me delete it. i get an error saying "cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk". when i go into its properties... it's all blank. is there any way to get rid of it?

Hi AML,

Try this:

Go to Start->Run and type CMD > OK.

At the prompt type the following:

cd c:\documents and settings\owner\favorites (then hit enter)

now type the following:

del MyRealPics*.* (hit enter)

Reboot and see if they're gone.

deleting from the command line seems to have worked. so, unless you saw something else in my last hijackthis logfile... i think that's it!
