    I ran both ad-aware and Spybot S&D.
My main problems are my homepage keeps being hijacked and sometimes when I open a new window a window will open saying downloading now. It doesn't stay long enough for me to find out exactly what is downloading but it has a number like an IP at the top.

My latest logfile for Hijackthis is:

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

In the past when I have used this it will clear everything except for one which is:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe
But I can do another scan minutes later and most if not all will be right back on here.
Also, is it normal to have 20-30 running processes?
Thanks for any help you can give...

    Hi mvq,

I really don't know where to start.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll/sp.html (obfuscated)

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 #eautosearch

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D6DBAC7F-EA8D-432D-99CA-7D4E423D53E7} - C:\WINNT\system32\bjiim.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools <= entire folder

    Boot normally and download:
    http://tools.zerosrealm.com/dllfix.exe

Doubleclick it and install in folder of choice on the root drive, in your case C:\

Run start.bat and press option 1. 'output.txt' will be created in the folder
Post that reportalong with the next one.

    Download VX2Finder from this link:
    http://tools.zerosrealm.com/VX2Finder.exe

Run Vx2Finder click on the *click to find VX2.BetterInternet* button. Then click *make log*.

Copy and paste the contents of the log into your next reply here.

    Regards,

    Pieter

That means we'll have to get rid of L2M first:

Sign off and stay off the internet until the entire procedure is complete.

Open VX2Finder and click on the *click to find VX2.BetterInternet* button.
Select the files in the bottom window.
Then select the *Delete these files* button.
You will be left with notice about one to be deleted on reboot.
It will ask to reboot on deletion of the last file (Reboot)

    -----------------
    Once back in Windows

Open VX2Finder again and click on these buttons in the right pane:

    user agent, Guardian.reg, restore policy

    Exit and reboot.

Then make a new dllfix.exe report and post it.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi mvq,

Run start.bat again and choose option 2. Hit '1' and enter dll name manually:
    C:\WINNT\System32\KBDJFKF.DLL

Download and run AdAware : http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ (make sure you have latest updates) and run it.

Also run CWShredder finally to clean up other entries.

Post a new HijackThis log when you are done.

    Regards,

    Pieter
