HELP with DLink SharePoint ESET v3 firewall problem

I read the past two threads about this subject, but seems it hasn't been fixed.

I have the latest SharePoint Utility, version 3.

I have the ESET Smart Security v3.0.695.0 with all updates.

How can I make the FIREWALL let this utility work?

If I disable the firewall, the utility works PERFECT.

I really don't want to do FILTERING. Isn't there a way to MANUALLY add this program?

Oh yeah I am using Windows XP SP3 (all updates as well).

 

1, uninstall ESS v3 and install ESS 4.2.58
2, if you have the firewall set to automatic mode, switch to learning mode so that the necessary rules are created automatically.

Should the problem persist, enable logging blocked connections in the IDS setup, reproduce the problem and post here the relevant records from the fw log.

 

I would rather keep using version 3 if at all possible.

But if no solution exists other than filtering mode, I may try version 4.
