    Hi Folks,

Today at work, we installed 2 standard version and 1 Administrator version of NOD32 v2.12.3 (All for Windows XP).
My machine that has the administrator version has 2 HDs. I created a folder to create an image of virus definitions and shared it at the slave one.
I configurated the others PC to get the definions in this folder.
I have setup the path for my pc, but my problem is that when the others PC try to update the definitions, it ask for a password.I didn´t setup any password in my PC, but NOD32 doesn´t update the others PC without it. What´s wrong ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Best Regards,

    DonKid.

    1. It sounds like to me that the other pc's don't have rights to that share. Instead of using share drives, I use the http function for updates.
    - or -
    2. In the mirror setup you can put a user name and password in the settings. You can also check in there.

I agree with bsilva - HTTP is definitely the way to go. I tried the share method back when I was originally working with v1.x, and had nothing but grief. The HTTP variation works flawlessly.

Thanks a lot for your help, Bsilva and Another jack.

    Using http it worked fine.
    Just a last question.
I´m not setup to update any component.
My version is 2.12.3 and NOD32 shows me that there´s a version 2.012.2 to update. Should I update it or not ?

    Best Regards,

    DonKid.

    Thanks, Blackspear.

As I´m using an administrator version at work, if I choose to suggest, NOD32 shows version 2.012.2 to download, so I decided to turn components sugestions off.

    Best Regards,

    DonKid.

Hmmmm hold off on that one DonKid, the admin version could be a little different in its version numbers... Sorry must have had a brain freeze ;)

Will have to wait for Bsilva, Anotherjack or Rumpstah to wander along...

    Cheers :D

    Hi Donkid,

VS 2.12.3 is not a component upgrade, that's why it says that its up to date with version 2.12.2.

The 2.012.2 was confusing me ;) Just a typo by the looks of it...

    Thanks Brian.

    Cheers :D

Thanks again, I´m not going to update it, even it showing 2.012.2.:)
    I´ll keep it turn off.
