    hi.
i seem to have a problem with a site called www .ntsearch.com when i search on google for anything at all the search results have certain words such as: internet, magazine, cover, cards and other words are highlighted as hyperlinks and when you click them it does a search on ntsearch.com for that word. i have never heard of or seen ntsearch before and i don't know how to stop the hyperlinking. some things are impoissible to search for as ntsearch seems to link the whole search result to it's own site.
Is ntsearch known for spyware/adware etc. please help soon as it is getting very annoying.
    thanks

    Hey adcyork,

There are some flavors of NTsearch referred to as a variant of the CoolWebSearch hijacker. There is a good chance you'll need to download a special (free) tool to remove it....called CWShredder.

    Download CWShredder here:

    www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html
    or here
    http://computercops.biz/zx/Merijn/cwshredder.zip

After downloading the file to a folder of your choice....with ALL Browser Windows closed....execute the file. With program running....select the *Fix* button....Do NOT use the scan button - it doesn't fix anything). Let it fix what it finds. When done, press *next* and you will get the results, and then *exit*

Reboot your PC and Following the above procedures.....scan once more to make sure it got everything.

Your more than Welcome and the real Thanks goes to one of our resident Spyware Fighter's....CalamityJane. I simply followed her lead on this same problem with another member.

If you haven't already....you might consider reading one of our Sticky's concerning how to prevent Browser Hijacks in the first place.

This Sticky---> Why did I get infected in the first place

You may want to look as some prevention software, such as the following:

    1. Spyware Blaster (free) – Spyware Prevention.
    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com

    2. Spyware Guard (free) – Real time scanner for Browser Hijack prevention.
    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com

    3. Spybot Search and Destroy (free) – Spyware removal and protection, with registry monitor. If running the above 2 programs, your system should remain fairly clean.

    4. Adaware (free) – Spyware removal. What Spybot Search and Destroy doesn’t pick up, this will.

    Hope this help...

    Cheers :D

..while on it, a kind request: it's very much appreciated if guests don't post under different nick names in case they are one and the same person. Would you mind using just one nick, rccstore and agem? Much obliged.

    regards,

    paul

Better yet rccstore/agem why don't you register? You know, admin's and mod's can see your IP address.. ;) (nothing to do with spying.. It's a feature all admins/mods on all forums have..) And why would you reply to your own post o_O Split personality?? :D  :D
