Thank you. Regarding trying, i will wait until the release which is relatively imminent. I got a request to update the Swedish language until latest the end of this week. I can endure until next week, which probably is when it will be released. This soft is getting closer and closer to finalization, i wonder what the prize will be then. If it will be in the neigbourhood of what some other Chinese backup programs cost, it will be worth it. But i will get it for free, or for being the translator that is. Yppie
While beta, it's a good time to explore to be ready for release. HBS is very lightweight and fast, does not embed itself deep into the system, easy to install and easy to uninstall, seems toy-like in its brief dialogs and minimal customizations. I've installed it alongside Macrium to study it, performed numerous backups and restores, and always with excellent results. The developer needs feedback on the program's performance, especially bug detection.
I have Hasleo Backup Suite Free, Version 4.4. I have never done a System Backup or a Disk/Partition Backup. I do those with Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image, both paid. I am using Hasleo to do a File Backup of my files. I find Hasleo is very slow compared to Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image. Are file backups normally slower to do than disk or partition backups? And yes, I have more than enough backup programs but I have a reason for that.
I can't help you as far as FILE backups are concerned (I use replication/synchronization software for that purpose), but I find Hasleo as fast or faster than Macrium Reflect for imaging purposes.
Thanks for replying, I may make an image just to see if it is as fast as Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image, on my system. By the way, is the replication/synchronization software you use to backup files one program? If it is one program could you share the name? Regardless, thanks for replying.
I updated from 4.2 to 4.4 the other week. This suite from Hasleo has performed flawlessly. I do only Disk/Partition backups, and have restored the entire disk more than once right from the interface within windows, it then reboots, loads up its own winpe.iso, restores the entire disk, I click finish and the machine reboots to the desktop. I do not use the boot menu feature, but probably will add it as Hasleo is now my main imaging program because of its speed, reliability and features that are impressive for a free offering, as well as a very supportive staff of developers and generous users helping along the way, such as @TheRollbackFrog and others. This is my story, so far I am more than impressed, so far for me, 4.4 release has been stable, fast and extremely reliable. Complete disk imaging that for me has been as fast or faster than most imaging programs I have used, and it has been many. Drive snapshot is the fastest to do an image, but Hasleo is much faster at restores. Hasleo restores also offer "Delta" restores which is like "changes only" between backup and disk data, also very fast on an internal SSD of 256GB, with only about 28GB actually used on the disk. The delta feature for a free offering is for me impressive. There are several excellent imaging programs out there in the market, Hasleo is gradually becoming part of that market, with features that some paid programs do not offer. Delta restores is one of them. Hasleo has become my go to imager and performs well, for me. Once in awhile I will use Macrium or DS, but I find Hasleo is right there with them and I now trust it as much.
I've finally gotten around to testing this. I've haven't done much yet. I just did a full backup. It appears that to do a differential (or incremental) backup, you need to go to the existing full backup and do it from there. My first observation that I'm not sure whether I like is that it creates sub-folders for the backups. I'll set up some full and differential schedules at some point to see how well scheduling works. Regarding the program itself. It seems to be quite light on resources.
It's a wonder that throughout the development, it hasn't been mentioned. Maybe it has. An option would be good.
I've found a bug. If I go to my backup and click Actions -> Edit -> Backup Options -> Advanced and change the default behavior of the "Backup" button from "Incremental" to "Differential", the setting doesn't stick. It keeps reverting back to "Incremental". So, if you click the "Backup" button, it'll only do incrementals.
If you perform backup 1 or 2, all backups will be in the same folder. If 3, the backup will be in a new folder, and the first backup will be complete. You can also make the backup to be created in folder 1-2, watch out for the job name, it forms the folder name. If you specify the job name Win10_2024-04-22 (without time stamp), all backups 1,2,3 will be placed in one folder named Win10_2024-04-22. I don't have that problem.
hi, with the last stable version 4.4 are there the ability to restore the image drive to specific partitions ? i have one ssd with 4 partition 1) 100MB 2) win11 + software 3) data part+software 4) restore part I created a disk backup (part 1+2+3+4), next time i would restore the same ssd with partition(1+2+4) and skip the 3 partition, does the pogram capable without overwrite the avoided partition (3) ?
No, the Microsoft Reserved Partition is 16 MB. Or 128 MB on old systems. You can't see it in Disk Management but Hasleo should show it.
OK, make sure you restore it or your computer might not boot. I haven't used Hasleo recently but I'm sure it can do what you desire. Several partition restores.
I should have said make sure you restore the MSR if you are restoring to a blank drive. It doesn't matter if you don't restore it to your current drive.
@al3xwild No it can not. That is one of the drawbacks with it so far. You have to back it up separately.
To clarify, if you took a SYSTEM or a DISK image, you can restore the entire image or any single partition from either of those images... a single partition image is not necessarily required for that type of restore. (sorry for being late with this, I'm hanging out in the Canary Is at the moment )
Observation: The only difference I can see between System Backup and Disk/Partition Backup is that System Backup automatically selects all your system partitions. Is that right? If I select Disk/Partition Backup and want to backup my operating system, I can still select all partitions anyway.
Hasleo Backup Suite V4.5 Released! What's new in this version: 1. Allows cloning/restoring between disks with different sector sizes 2. Reduce wait time for canceling backup/restore operations 3. Added support for resizing the main window 4. Improved backup scheduling 5. Added Ukrainian language support 6. Fixed some bugs to improve product quality
Yes @Hadron System Backup is for the OS and all partitions required by it. Disk/Partition backup you can choose the entire disk, or a single partition(s). Just remember if you use disk/partition backup and backup just your C volume with the OS, if you ever need to restore that partition you backed up, remember during the restore operation, at the top right, choose "Partition" mode button before restoring. "Disk mode" is the default mode when backing up with disk/partition backup which is fine if you backed up and need to restore the entire disk, but a single partition restore, you need to change the mode to "partition mode". It is a great program, just takes some time to learn its features and choices. You can learn much here: https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software/tutorial/backup-suite-user-guide.html
