It appears that Chrome is patching more than IE is recently, kind of expected since it's not as mature though. Hoping portableapps release a prompt upgrade.

Me too! But a visit to their forum gave me the impression is that the current priority is to work on the latest version of their own installer. So we may have to wait a while.

Thanks for the link but what is your overall experience with this site?

    In edit:
I looked the site over. It has a WOT-green rating but I'll wait for the version from portableapps itself.

May I remind all Wilders members not to post links to Warez sites, as described in our Terms of Service.

Any site that supposedly has a FREE VMware ThinApp portable application is illegal and should not be frequented.

Slightly off-topic, but this was an example of a WOT-green site! Fortunately, my "common sense" kicked in and I decided not to take things any further but to wait (im)patiently for the portableapps version.

No luck so far. So I went ahead and downloaded the standalone installer (which is minus the updater) from Google itself. Copied over my cookies, passwords, theme and stylesheet from the portable directory successfully and running in Sandboxie :). I tried copying over the WOT extension but ended up reinstalling it.

I trust that is your personal opinion? Or do the Wilders Terms of Service now cover the Web in its entity? ;)

There's an excellent portable version of Chrome called Iron Portable. More info here:

Pinga, I did qualify that statement of fact with Any site that supposedly has a FREE VMware ThinApp portable application is illegal. :)
