Google Earth and Ubuntu

    On Scientific Linux 6.1 it works well, except for the Qt stuff which libraries seem to be ignored/not used or something else in GE 6 latest - hence the lousy fonts. Size can be increased by running as normal user qtconfig-qt4 but that's about it.
    Remember that GE is only 32 bit - there is no 64 bit version ( 64 bit on their site uses 32bit libraries), so I had to install the nvidia 32 bit drivers in addition to the 64 bit drivers.
    As linuxforall said make sure you have lsb.

    Anyway here a sshot of Zürich area with latest GE6x ( I downloaded the '64' bit rpm from their site which also added the google-earth.repo file so that updates will be occur as and when available without the need for me to check the site).
