Does anyone use GMail? Have you tried the new 'Compose' view? Is it my imagination or is Google changing perfectly good things to rubbish ideas just for the fun of it?

Google guys ... what are you doing? o_O

I use Gmail but never see the site. Thunderbird handles that. :D

I may try & figure out SeaMonkey's email client one day. I just prefer to have my mail on bookmarks.

Cheers. I think that I will get used to using compose as a pop-out. It just seems like a downgrade in thinking. I'd just transferred most of my work & business mail from Yahoo! Mail as well, thinking how simple & reliable GMail was. o_O

I'm glad I have Zoho as well.

Its very useful if you need to refer to another message in a different thread.
Also you can switch between old/new modes.

    Cheers, Nick

We use Google Apps at work and I switched to the new compose window today. For new emails, I like it. You can blow it up if you want but I don't think I will very often.

As for the reply window change, that I'm not as happy with. It seems too small and there's no way to blow it up like the new compose window. (probably just me!) I'll have to try it a while...

I quite like the new compose window of Gmail. No more leaving the inbox.

It makes it easier to send multiple emails at a time, which I like. You can also have an email in the background. It's not so huge a change otherwise.

IMO GMail was fine as it was. Maybe I just fear change. I'm still not convinced that this is a change for the better. Having said that, AOL mail has changed recently & for the better.

Yes, I have experimented with that. I'm warming to it slightly. I think I can live with it. I don't know whether the new composer will be optional in the future though. o_O

It depends on the change LOL.

I just thought that it could over-complicate what I thought was a relatively simple procedure. It'll grow on me no doubt.

I hate the new compose menu. Why type in a tiny box in a corner if you can type on a A4 sized paper the "old" way?

You can open it in a new window and have it even bigger the the old compose view.

    Cheers, Nick.
