Hi. I am using Glarysoft Utilities, and for whatever reason if I select the Disk Repair option, I keeps giving me the following error message found below. HOWEVER, if I repair the issues and if I subsequently re-run the Disk Repair option... it tells me there are no errors. Thus, I then proceed to schedule it the reboot and it finds no errors. Now, once my PC is fully re-booted and I re-run that option within Glarysoft, it still tells me there is an error etc.

I will schedule a disk check now with the the actual PC tool that does so. In any event, I am wondering if Glarysoft does actually find a problem.

Schedule a disk check, and errors should be fixed when you reboot, and then Glary Utilities should find no more errors.

@roger_m: Yes, I actually ran that afterwards to see if it would actually make a difference, but for whatever reason it does not give me that error anymore. I have no clue what happened from Glarysoft fixing no errors (after the original first time when it did) and the time I used the native windows disk checking tool. I'm trying to understand why Glarysoft is displaying this error report about a bunch of random entries that were supposedly incorrect. I saw the damn disk checking tool (the real one) clearly telling me there were none - ditto with the Glarysoft Disk Checking tool, there were no errors found during reboot.

@zapjb: Yes, I actually ran that afterwards to see if it would actually make a difference. No errors were found during reboot, and whenever I re-ran Glarysoft, it would not say that any errors were present. So, clearly Glarysoft actually needed me to run the real disk checking tool. I don't understand why. What could have happened that made that error message disappear? After all, the disk checking tool simply did exactly what Glarysoft Disk Checking told me, there are no errors. @mades There is a known problem with chkdsk where it will sometimes falsely report errors when run in read only mode.

    chkdsk c: /r

switch "r" repair, includes "f" for fix.

doesn't this indicate "temp file", & perhaps privazer, or ccleaner should be run first, then disc check?

@roger_m I did not know that. That's quite interesting to note. Thank you for the link, I have read some of it and will bookmark it so I can read on it some more :) Great link! I never even though about actually using Microsoft tech support... though to be fair, I think it would have taken me a lot more time to figure out what would be the reason by myself (even if using MS tech).

@Rico I actually ran both at the same time. To be fair, I would run it multiple times (which I assumed would remove any "confusion" for Glarysoft(?) Maybe I am wrong about that though.
