On my 2 GHZ 12 GB 64 bit machine:

Gdata - causes FF to take 3 minutes to launch. Tech. support is the pits.. Remove Gdata > FF quick

Trial Coranti > FF still quick.

Too bad for Gdata lost sale due to poor support.

    hey..

what version of ff are u using ?

just try to delete your ff profile folder
then use CCleaner and speedyfox to optimize
ff performance. i'm not sure if the problem is
    exactly coming from g-data.

and then again start ff ,
if the problem still insisted , try in
safe mode and see if it's still the same

    post me back the result.

    Regards,
    Amin

    Hi Amin,

It's definitely Gdata, tried all that stuff with FF disable extensions, new profile, re-install FF with brand new profile. All failed! What seemed to work is:

install Gdata >>>> then install FF

    but Gdata BankGuard is absent!

Tech support USA says I'll call you back, never did!

Contact International support, yawn we don't care.

Uninstall Gdata FF is normal loading > install Coranti ( 4 engines) FF still loads very quick.

    OMG..

i remember i was using g-data for sometime and then one day when i booted up to my windows there was no firewall. i mean i opened the g-data but firewall was gone !! not disabled but totally gone , it asked me to repair the program.
it's important to add , this happened for me twice with two different OSes.

    what a crappy situation.
