Thanks ronjor, this has been thrown around for a while now so it's good to see it in black and white. Even Google has been caught up in monetary endorsements and failing to disclose a few times along with many other Fortune 500 companies like Nike etc.

It's going to be hard to enforce in many cases though, a few bucks or a free product under the table and who's going to know. I've done it a lot of times, been given a product for free to review but i've always mentioned that up front.

IMHO it's a good law, there is too many BS reviews and testamonials online making it hard to believe anything but it's tricky to regulate.

Is this relevant to US citizen only, people in US or people using services/sites in US?
