Free Version of Malware Defender??

I am afraid it may be discussed before as told by a friend of mine.

There is a rebranded version of Malware defender from

Anyone heard about it?
I have found a direct download link and it looks like a retailed version.

I downloaded and installed it some times before. It looks identical with the original version from torchsoft. But uninstalled if it is fake. I scanned it in virustotal, hitman pro, prevx, nothing found.



Please share your opinion or if it is already shared give a link to that.

Malware Defender (TorchSoft) was sold by the owner (Xiaolin) to 360safe www.360.cn and now works for them. The new version is free. I had been running version 2.7.1 beta and it was stable. I am waiting to hear if this is now the public release and if so what changes from the beta. It is legitimate.

No the new version is free. There is no further option to purchase 2.6. I am using 2.7.1 and it is stable.

 

No I mean is there any option in the interface for automatic upgrade/update? Otherwise how one could know if a new version has released!!

 

Currently there is not in 2.7.1.
