Free HIPS apps compatible with 7 x64?

    Probably true... I too would like some simple antiexecutable like PG free for Win7x64, but it seems all HIPS are going 32bit only... And i don't want to use Comodo.

    Nope, i just checked. Besides i 'd like something more classical. You know, the usual pop up asking you "abc.exe wants to run, allow or deny".

    I am not changing firewall as long as i am in Win7 and Sphinx is up and running (because unfortunately i later discovered that the firewall has online activation <sigh>).

    Finally i found a firewall solution that has never compatibility issues, because uses the native windows engine and runs light as a feather and smooth as silk.

    Threatfire is too "intelligent" to do the dumb classical HIPS and i usually encounter bugs sooner or later.

    Spyware Terminator is said to have a Windows 7 and 64 bit verison available later this year.

    Good (and wise) choice for you both :) If you guys get adventurous, you might try manually configuring the firewall rules in the Advanced security panel, then you won't even need Sphynx.
