No, stick to Fanboy's. The others generally have bad allow rules.

No, because with the TPLs, one provider of them blocks/allows things another provider blocks/allows, leading to cancelling each other out at best, and screw ups with browsing at worst. This is especially the case between Fanboy and Easylist.

Edit: Funky's reply and yours auto-magically appeared after I posted this, even though they were made an hour ago and weren't there when I posted...some screwy stuff in this here forum *cue Halloween music*

OK thanks for the advice. Would the same principle necessarily apply to adblocking lists as well?

OK, I'll be on the look out for the bloke in the Bill Shatner mask.

You don't want to overdo ABP lists either, Dave. There will be way too much overlapping and it can slow down your browsing and cause screwy things on websites.

If you find him, tell him I'm catching up to his record..then start running really fast :D

OK, apropos ABP lists, what do you recommend; one list only, or at the very most maybe two?

Well, if I can't find him now there will always be a sequel or six ... or maybe even a re-boot ...

The bad allowing is also partially because of IE, there was an article some time ago that explained that when you have more than 1 TPL and there is a duplicate rule, it will allow it instead of block :S
So it's best to use only 1 good TPL.

That's what I used in IE9, worked great for me, though I'm glad 10 has one now.

Yeah, it seems to work really well. IE 10 with a British English spellchecker? That sounds even better! ;)

I used the Fanboy Adblock List and Fanboy Tracking TPLs. I've never heard of the issue of using more than 1 TPL causing allows, only by using different providers.

Oh, didn't see him eh? He'll be back out tonight, he's not much on daylight, kinda ruins the fun ;)

He's talking about the whole 1 allow rule applies to all thing. It doesn't mean you should stick to "1 TPL", however you're better off sticking to 1 TPL provider. I use all 6 of Fanboy's TPLs and working fine here, although only the first 2 are "needed".

I think it's actually windows 8 that has it and IE10 uses that feature (available to all Win8 programs). But it's supposedly as good if not better than the Office spellchecker, and it has the autocorrect feature with it.

Do you use more than one adblock list on the same browser?

I'll confuse him by getting my own Bill Shatner mask. I should be OK if I stay away from Trekkie conventions.

I use several filters with ABP in Firefox, yes. I also use two TPLs in IE. I don't mix providers of the TPLs or lists though, for reasons explained above by Funky.
