I looked at this thing a while back and decided that I didn't require it.

Now I definitely know that I don't require it.

I don't use any of Google's services other than the search engine so it doesn't affect me.

    Hi :)

I Do Use A Couple Of Googles Services :doubt:
    In Fact!
It was only a few days ago that I installed the other Firefox Add-On that How To Geek have now also written an artical on.

    Lucky For Me!
How To Geek .. Have Given My Google Firefox Add-On :thumb:

    Thankfully!
I Don't Use Google Reader
    So!
I don't have the said offending... Google Reader Notifier - Firefox Add-On

But I think this is more about... How Safe Are Firefox Add-Ons?
Rather Than... How Safe Is Google?
OR... How Safe Is Google Reader?

This does make me a little nervous about installing any Firefox Add-Ons :doubt:

Zeena, I believe one should read the reviews on any given FF add-on and determine if it's right/safe for them or not. Stick to the top rated ones, in any category, but keep an eye on them, just in case they turn evil later on. Thanks for posting this particular one here at Wilders.

PS. Now you know why I kept on the Location Aware Browsing feature in my FF. ;)

    HI JRViejo :)

    Re *

    You Know What?
A few days ago I was bored and just somehow through my boredom - Ended Up At...
    Google Maps : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Now I don't know for sure that I would have been asked the " Do you wish to share you Location " question :doubt:
    Coz As You Know!
I've already turned my Firefox - Location Aware Browsing ( Geolocation ) - OFF

    However!
I Just Happened To Find The Show My Location Button :shifty:
    And Started To Wonder :cautious:
Curiosity got the better of me in the end
I wanted to know if Google could still find me with Location Aware Browsing ( Geolocation ) turned off ( Disabled ) in Firefox.
    It Couldn't! :D

    Google Couldn't Find Me

Zeena, yes, you are correct. Google Maps won't know until you tell it, however, do a Google search for just auto repairs and see how many sponsored ads, plus search listings, are for shops near you. Your IP address alone, if not hidden, already gives Google a general idea of where you are at.
