Many will be caught, because a fundamental weakness -- the one that got that Silk Road admin arrested -- remains: having illegal stuff shipped to one's true address. As soon as you buy from an undercover agent, you're toast.
A couple of thoughts about the SilkRoad. I am a privacy freak, a bitcoin advocate, a tor, freenet, ISP2, Jondonym, bitmessage or any other decentralized P2P system that has the potential to keep the government out of our business. Too many people are taking moral stances with regard to SilkRoad and other market places like it. This is Wilders guys. We live in a surveillance state. DPR proved to be a freaking idiot. When the feds take this type of action this day in age privacy in general suffers. I hope this is a call to step up security. I hope the Snowden leaks make this the year of linux. And I hope I am not the only straight person who is able to ascertain this is a loss of liberty. Freedom Hosting was just crazy. You don't guy half an entire network on that type of basis.
While this is true, that is the weak link in the chain. Someone will come up with an idea in the future to solve that problem I bet you on that. But if they nail all the big vendor's and get their customer lists then I would be very worried if you used their site, and come on if you didn't think the vendor's would save your info just in case they got busted as a way to get them out of a jam you've got rocks in your head. Off course they saved that info.
Some of these links may have been posted, but maybe it's good to have them all here too: <-http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/silk-road-dealer-cooperating-567432-> <-http://gawker.com/silk-roads-most-famous-heroin-dealer-was-an-fbi-inform-1449655695-> <-http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/10/top-silk-road-drug-dealer-was-an-informant-then-got-arrested/-> Trust is a five letter word

Hmm, not sure if I like this news. Well I'm sure, I don't. Not one bit(coin). Before you know, one BTC is worth a Satoshi dice. Perhaps time to jump ship, liquidate all virtual assets. Gut feeling tells me cash is king as long as this isn't cleared up.
