ESET crashing my computer

    I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 32 bit, Eset Smart Security 3.0.672.0
    My pc has been crashing A LOT. Ran Microsoft debugging tools and found that eamon is trying to access pageable memory using an IRQL that is too high. How do I overcome this problem ?

    The latest version of EAV is 4.0.424. Please uninstall your current version and install the latest one.

    Downloaded ESET 4.0 and when I try to open it, I'm being told it could not be opened and to contact the vendor to verify it is a valid Windows installer package.
