    Hi people,

I don't know how to investigate or repair this problem:
Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable"

    Windows98
    Acronis 7.0
    Dell PIII 600mhz
    784mb RAM

    AVG AntiVirus
    ZoneAlarm Firewall
    Spybot S&D
    Ad-Aware

No active scan or resident shield utilities are loaded.

    Thanks in advance.
    Doug

    Hi Dough,
This error message generally occurs when you try to print on a remote computer that is part of a network station.

Are you sure this error is in relation with Acronis?

    Hi Dough,
All right. The reason is probably because you tried to create a scheduled task without a password or a password different from your Windows logon, which is to be created if you don't have one.
If you want te create a scheduled task, you need a password to open your Windows session and use the same password with Acronis .

Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable" means the "Acronis Scheduler 2 Service" is not running. Go to Administrative Tools - Services and double ckick the service. Make sure it is set to start type Automatic and is running. If it is stopped, try to start it. There is a helper app called schedhlp.exe that must be run at system startup for this service to run. Make sure it is set to run in the msconfig Startup tab. This service needs to be running for TI to work. You can't even run a manual backup without it.

Most of the time, reinstalling TI will correct any problems with the scheduler service.
