I don't have a Facebook account, but I was going to sign-up to complete this giveaway offer https://www.facebook.com/WinXDVD?ref=stream&sk=app_206541889369118

    The giveaway is awesome

    But...

When I go to sign-up for a Facebook account, it asks me for my mobile phone number for security reasons and if I click the "I need help" button on the lower left, it says I can give out my government ID info instead.

The giveaway isn't even worth it if I have to give out such personal info. I think it's awful that Facebook wants that type of information, just so I can get some stupid security code to verify my account.

Now I know why I don't use Facebook

Oh well, maybe a giveaway will pop up some time again (Hopefully not Facebook).

Well, the link is there if any existing Facebook users are interested.

I think you can have a Facebook account without giving away personal data.
    I did it.

The point here (my point) is that there are hardly EAM giveaways with no strings attached.

But... considering you have CIS in your sig, who cares about freebies.

That is true, I really don't need it.

But, I do like Emsisoft and if a free giveaway comes up...I'll try it.

I'm sure there is another way to sign-up for Facebook, but the fact they have something like that in place just simply makes me feel uneasy.

Agree... I consider it to be the best AV out there (Anti Malware and Behaviour Blocker included).

If there were not so many free options around I would definitely consider it as a first choice.
