many web-based mail will scan attachments for viruses, but u should still be careful and use ur own AV to scan them too. i like yahoo better than hotmail because i feel the spam blockers are more effective. ive never used email programs (except once to test yahoopops).

I do use several, like Gmail, Safe-Mail, FastMail (IMAP) and POP3 provided by my ISP.

    - Safe-mail is a FREE high security web-based e-mail system. :D
    - FastMail: Advanced spam and Virus protection :)

All are downloaded through my email client, but still scanned by KAV.
    Never received a virus. :(
