I'm still grappling with this xxx modem problem. Thanks to Derek and Pieter I think i'm making progress. I've used Sybot, ADAWARE, CW Shredder and installed Windows XP Service Pack 1

    Here is my hijack log.

    I'm concerned about the folowing:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Runner] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe /i

Do i need to fix checked or does this mean i'm rid of the thing as there is no sign of Isass? Any help greatly appreciated

    Hi Sabel,

That is exactly the one that needs to go:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Runner] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe /i

    Then reboot and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe <= NOTE, only that one, do NOT try to delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe which is the Windows file.

    Regards,

    Pieter
